McDonald’s Quarter Pounder Linked To E. Coli Outbreak—Exec ‘Very Confident’ Food Is Safe

The CDC announced a multi-state E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounder, causing hospitalizations and one death. The outbreak has affected 49 people across 10 states, with most cases in Colorado and Nebraska. McDonald’s has pulled fresh slivered onions and quarter pound beef patties in multiple states and temporarily stopped selling the Quarter Pounder in several states. The investigation suggests the contamination may be from slivered onions from a single supplier.
