President Joe Biden’s administration is extending the pause on student loan payments for borrowers in the SAVE plan for at least six more months due to ongoing legal challenges. The Department of Education announced that payments will remain interest-free as they adjust systems and defend the plan in court. The SAVE plan, which aims to forgive debts sooner and reduce monthly payments to $0 for more borrowers, was introduced after the Supreme Court struck down a previous forgiveness program.
