Apple And Goldman Sachs Fined Over $89 Million For Misleading Apple Card Customers

Apple and Goldman Sachs face over $89 million in fines and refunds due to issues with their Apple Card partnership, as per U.S. regulators. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) fined Apple $25 million and Goldman $45 million, with Goldman also required to pay $19.8 million in customer refunds. Apple failed to forward consumer disputes to Goldman, which did not meet federal investigation requirements. Both companies misled customers about interest-free payment plans, resulting in unexpected interest charges. The CFPB has temporarily banned Goldman from issuing new credit cards until compliance is assured. Apple and Goldman claim to have addressed the issues.
