On Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump had the honor of ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, shortly after being recognized as Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” for the second time.
Accompanied by his wife Melania and daughters Ivanka and Tiffany, as well as Vice President-elect JD Vance, Trump made a notable appearance. In an interview with CNBC following the bell-ringing ceremony, he reaffirmed his commitment to reducing the corporate tax rate to 15% for U.S. manufacturing companies. Additionally, he expressed intentions to implement policies that would support the growth of cryptocurrency and advancements in artificial intelligence.
Trump’s selection as Time’s “Person of the Year” came after he outperformed several prominent figures, including Vice President Kamala Harris, Kate Middleton, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, Elon Musk, and podcast host Joe Rogan. Time magazine highlighted Trump’s selection as a result of his significant political comeback and his role in instigating a major political realignment in the country.
