Meta Donates $1 Million To Trump’s Inaugural Fund Weeks After CEO Zuckerberg Met President-Elect

Meta has confirmed its donation of $1 million to the inaugural fund of President-elect Donald Trump, a decision that follows a recent meeting between CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Trump at Mar-a-Lago. This information was reported by various news outlets on Wednesday.
The Wall Street Journal, which was the first to disclose the donation, noted that Zuckerberg’s team had communicated Meta’s intention to contribute to Trump’s inaugural team prior to the dinner held last month. While Meta acknowledged the donation to the Journal, it refrained from elaborating on the motivations behind this financial support.
According to public records, it was highlighted that Meta did not contribute to either Trump’s inaugural fund in 2017 or Biden’s in 2021. The Federal Election Commission permits corporations to donate to inaugural committees without imposing any limits on such contributions.
Additionally, The New York Times has reported that Trump’s Inaugural Committee is providing exclusive access to donors who either contribute $1 million or successfully raise $2 million.
